Hello World! It is great to have been freed from the 140 character limit in Twitter! (You can follow me @theparadiso). On the other hand, I am now captive to coming up with something worthwhile to publish… and possibly interesting to my readers.

Here you will mainly find technical study notes relating to my journey to achieve Cisco CCNP and CCIE certification, as well as anything that may be interesting or helpful to share such as professional or personal development. I will attempt to stick to a 20/80 rule, the two extreme ends of the parabolic curve, when it comes to worthwhile technical topics:

  • the basics – essentials we should all know and not overlook
  • deeper-dive/must-know topics, difficult to recall/implement, or the obscure – the differentiators!

Profile: I am currently employed by a Fortune 500 outsourcing firm, working as a System Administrator for our client, a global telecommunications company where I primarily work with Windows and VMware servers.

My true passion, however, is networking! I have embarked on a  journey which many fellow networkers are familiar – achieve the Cisco CCIE certification. Don’t be fooled, I understand there is a lot more to it than having a CCIE number associated with my name. I will elaborate in my intro blog post, please take my word for it at the moment. Thanks!

Most importantly, my goals for professional success is a function of my supportive family. I am a dedicated husband and father who is excited to celebrate every milestone achievement with my wife and children!

Certification Progress:Cisco CCNP BSCI exam passed on the second attempt in July 2010! Currently studying for the CCNP SWITCH exam.

Industry Certifications Achieved: Cisco CCNA, Microsoft MCSA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
